Put your gaming pants on, get your thumbs warmed up, and dig up that Mario hat from Halloween. Are you ready for the invasion? The Louisville Arcade Expo [4] lures gamers all across Kentucky and Kentuckiana this weekend with gaming tournaments, costume contests and classic gaming.
Enjoy a throwback to console gaming at its best with games from the 1970’s, 80’s and 90’s. The Louisville Arcade Expo [5] keeps it retro not only with classic gaming, but with a costume contest and over 100 games from home collectors.
“Our kids played video games for about 3 hours straight and we played along as some of the arcade games were 2 player and up to 4 player on the consoles. It was really awesome and brought back some memories to see them playing the games I remember loving at their age,” said blogger D.I.Y. Louisville said of the 2013 arcade expo.
If you’re a home collector of pinball machines and need an expert for repairs and maintenance, Pinball Classics will be at the Louisville Arcade Expo confidently answering all your questions. Bluegrass E-Cycle will also be at the even for the weekend doing their part for the environment. Bring your old electronics, which seem like dinosaurs now, such as old routers, modems, iPods and PDAs, and donate them to Bluegrass E-Cycle.
This year the Louisville Arcade Expo is reaching out to community for Dare to Care Food Bank. For every two cans donated to Dare to Care or $2 donated to Kosair Children’s Hospital at the arcade expo, attendees receive one raffle ticket. The raffle prize drawing will be on Saturday at 8pm for prizes such as a full size Sega Super Hang On Arcade Machine.
The arcade expo kicks off on Friday at 2pm and closes the consoles on Sunday at 4pm. Kids 10 and younger are free with an adult admission. An airport shuttle is available for those not from Louisville.
