The government's recent cuts to SNAP benefits [4]took place just in time for the holidays. Can you imagine being hungry on Thanksgiving? Here are a few places you can donate to make another family's life a little easier this holiday season.

The Dare to Care Food Bank  [5]

Dare to Care accepts food (fresh, dry, refrigerated and frozen) and non-food items (household products, cleaning supplies, hygiene supplies, etc.) Dare to Care can help you organize a food drive at your church, school, club, or organization. You can also donate online, for every dollar you donate, four meals go to local families, children, and seniors in need.

Kentucky Harvest [6]

Kentucky Harvest accepts perishable and non-perishable food items, donations and volunteers. According to their website, Kentucky Harvest simply moves food from people who have it to people who need it free of charge. Kentucky Harvest moves around 2 million pounds of food annually from donor to recipient.

Open Hand Kitchen  [7]

Maybe you're a broke college student with no wiggle room in your budget. You can always donate your time and volunteer to help at a soup kitchen. The Open Hand Soup Kitchen needs volunteers every day at lunch and dinner.

No-Kill Louisville's Pet Food Bank [8]

No-Kill Louisville runs a pet food bank. No-Kill is an all volunteer organization committed to "build a community where no adoptable pet or feral cat is killed". Any donations of pet food given to Dare to Care will also be routed to No-Kill.

Do you have any suggestions for food banks, soup kitchens, or charities our readers should know about? Leave them in the comments.
