Here's what you should be doing this weekend in Louisville:
- The Moth Story Slam at Walden Theater
The Moth [4] features true stories told live without notes. The Moth StorySLAM at the Walden Theater on Friday, November 15 at 7:00 is a special story slam in partnership with the Slant Culture Theatre Festival [5]. 10 storytellers will give five-minute stories on the subject of “Attitude.” Tickets are $12.00. You can volunteer for the chance to tell your own story!
2. Ann Patchett at the Clifton Center
On Friday, November 15 in the Clifton Center at 7:00 p.m. bestselling author Ann Patchett will sign and discuss her book This is the Story of a Happy Marriage. Admission is $5 or free with purchase of book. Check our Louisville.com’s interview with Ann [6]Patchet [6]t.
3. The Evan Williams Bourbon Experience
The Evan Williams Bourbon Experience [7] opens on Friday, November 15, 2013 on Whiskey Row. The “experience” includes a historical tour and bourbon tasting. Adult admission is $12.00, and tours run 10am-5pm Friday and Saturday, and 1-5pm Sunday.
4. Try El Camino, Atlantic No. 5 or Jackknife Café
The Louisville food scene is booming like crazy. Try one of these hot new restaurants: Jackknife Café [8] in the Butchertown Market (we recommend the prosciutto and goat cheese sandwich with fig spread), El Camino [9] on Bardstown Road, (the cocktails are rumored to be amazing) and Atlantic No. 5 [10] (kale sorghum salad!).
5. Go to H&M or Nordstrom Rack
H&M just opened in Oxmoor Mall [11] and Nordstrom Rack just opened in the Shelbyville Road Plaza. There is now no reason to ever leave Louisville. Get your pocketbooks ready and get a cute new outfit to go dancing in [12]!
