Bit to Do [1]
By Brian Kennedy [3]

Kings and fools handle forgiveness, mercy, and revenge in the U of L theatre arts production of The Tempest, which continues today.

The Tempest will take place Sept. 26-29 at 8 p.m. each night. A matinee will happen at 3 p.m. on Sept. 29. All performances are to happen at the Thrust Theatre, located at 2314 S Floyd St. [4] on the U of L campus (same intersection as the McDonalds).

Tickets for each show are $15 for adults, $12 for students, and $12 for senior citizens. All tickets can be purchased at the door or the U of L box office. More information on the show can be found at the U of L theatre arts [5] website.

The Tempest features Prospero, who is shipwrecked along with others on a remote island. Prospero, the Duke of Milan, wants his daughter Miranda brought into power. He plans to use whatever means necessary, including manipulation and bringing up a tempest, to achieve this.

However, when the plan is carried out, unexpected events take place and true natures are revealed.

The Tempest is believed to be Shakespeare's final work, created around 1610-11.

Rinda Frye directed the production for U of L.

Following The Tempest, U of L will present Monsieur Baptiste, the Con Man. That production will go on in November.
