Have you ever been curious about what goes on at the zoo after-hours?
Wonder no more, as you can satisfy your curiosity on September 7 by participating in the Louisville Zoo’s 2nd annual Wild Walk.
Walkers will participate in an untimed walk through the zoo and there will also be close-up encounters with the Zoo’s animal ambassadors, animal demonstrations, zookeeper interactions and free rides. The walk ends with door prizes, special treats and the movie, The Croods, at 9 p.m.
Both individuals and teams are eligible to register for the walk and each dollar raised will go towards animal care, food and enrichment. The annual food budget alone for the Zoo is over $400,000.
That’s a lot of grub.
To participate in the Wild Walk, each individual must raise a minimum of $50 (ages 2 and under are free). The prizes are accumulative, which means that the more money you raise, the more prizes you win. The prize levels are as follows:
$50 to $149 Wild Walk registration and commemorative t-shirt, carousel rides, post walk activities, door prizes, movie and more
$150 to $249 Prizes above plus A.D.O.P.T.S. package (animal adoption)
$250 to $399 Prizes above plus a 12Oz. eco-friendly bamboo commemorative sports bottle
$400 to $599 Prizes above plus a 100% jute commemorative tote and a Qdoba gift card
$600 to $999 Prizes above plus a rare opportunity to meet keepers and feed the pygmy hippo
$1,000+ Prizes above plus a rare painting by one of our animal artists
Awards will also be given to the top Individual and Family fund-raisers.
Interested? Register online at louisvillezoo.org [4] and you’ll also receive a personalized fundraising webpage to raise funds for your walk.
