Have you heard of Network Center for Community Change yet? It's a phenomenal nonprofit working on the ground here in Louisville in our urban neighborhoods. They work to build leadership, educate, and bridge communities together to create a strong force for positive social change. Their movement is lead by their 5000+ membership here in Jefferson County. You might also have heard that Louisville celebrity Bonnie Prince Billy will be playing a benefit for them with Dawn McCarthy and the All-Star Power Member Revue soon. You can learn about that and NC3 here [4].
In the mean time, feed your city by feeding yourself. You know you've been hankering for some good barbeque anyway. While very delicious, you're a little burnt out on the usual scene on Bardstown Road or NuLu . Take an adventure for lunch or dinner this July 10th between 11 am and 9 pm. Head down to Smoketown USA at 1153 Logan Street and tuck into some great barbeque. I can say from personal experience that not only is the barbeque drool worthy, the vegetable sides are worth the trip as well.
A whopping twenty five percent of sales will go to support NC3's work here in Louisville.
