Peek into the often unknown world of four mentally challenged men in the production The Boys Next Door, which Bunbury Theatre will present beginning Friday.
The Boys Next Door performances will take place June 7-9 and June 12-15 at 7:30 p.m. each night. Shows on June 9 and 16 will go on at 2:30 p.m. each day. All performances will happen at the Henry Clay Theatre, located on the third floor of the Henry Clay Building at 604 S Third Street [4] in Old Louisville.
Tickets for each show are $21 for general admission, $18 for seniors 65 and over, $10 for children 12 and under, and $10 for students with ID. All tickets can be purchased at the door or online at the Bunbuty Theatre [5] website.
The Boys Next Door features four mentally-challenged protagonists living in a communal residence. Each of the men has their own nuances and humorous stories to tell about their lives. A social worker, genuine but more despairing with each passing day, also cares for them.
Tom Griffin created the play, which was turned into a 1996 movie starring Nathan Lane.
