Shakespeare's Hamlet gets updated for the modern times in The Tragedy of Omelet: Prince of Dennys, a Bottoms Up! Productions show that begins Thursday.

The Tragedy of Omelet will take place from Apr. 25-29, May 2, 3, and 5 at 7:30 p.m. each night.  All performances are to happen at Alley Theater, located at 1210 Franklin Street [4] in the Butchertown area of Louisville.

Tickets for each show are $12 per person or $20 for two people.  All tickets can be purchased at the door or by going to the Alley Theater [5] website.

The Tragedy of Omelet: Prince of Dennys is essentially an updated version of Shakespeare's Hamlet.  The storyline and much of Shakespeare's words are kept mostly in tact in the update, but with a few twists.  The biggest twist...Claudius didn't kill the king.  Also, some characters, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, have updated language (and character choices, too) whil other characters have a mix between Shakespeare's words and modern language.

Colby Ballowe, a Bottoms Up! member, created The Tragedy of Omelet: Prince of Dennys, and Amos Dreisbach directed the production.

More information on the show can be found at the Bottoms Up! Productions Facebook [6] page.
