Friday night, guests at the 10th Annual Brain Ball will no longer feel like they are in Kentucky anymore.
Emerald city will be coming to town for the Brain Injury Alliance of Kentucky’s annual ball, which will take place at The Seelbach on Friday, November 9. Chaired by Paul Varga, Chairman and CEO of Brown-Forman Corporation, the ball will transport guests back into the Land of Oz at the Wizard of Oz themed event.
Created by the Varga Family in 2003, the Brain Ball formed in support of Mary Varga, who survived a brain injury with the help of the Brain Injury Alliance of Kentucky (BIAK) during her recovery. Since then, the ball has continued to grow, helping BIAK in their endeavors to support all Kentuckians fighting similar injuries.
The ball will commence with a special cocktail hour at 6 p.m. and will feature signature drinks by Chief Entertaining Officer of Brown-Forman Corporation and the host of Secrets of Louisville Chefs Live, Tim Laird. Dinner will then follow and include a special program on the history of the Brain Ball, as well as a special presentation honoring Jennifer Hornback, winner of the Annual Mary Varga Award. There will even be a live auction hosted by Wave 3’s Kevin Harned.
At 9 p.m., guests will then put their ruby slippers and dance moves to work at an exclusive lounge afterparty in the Rathskeller room of The Seelbach.
On Friday night, guests of the 10th Annual Brain Ball will follow the yellow brick road in support of Kentuckians dealing and recovering from brain injuries. Who knows? They might even meet Dorothy and friends along the way. Will you join them?
