Haven’t yet reserved your tickets for Wicked?
Want to sit up close but just can’t swallow the hefty price tag?
You may be in luck.
Beginning September 12, there will be a day-of-performance ticket lottery in which would-be theatre goers can purchase orchestra seats (yep, those are the good ones) for $25.
Wicked fans who want dibs on the seats need to show up—in person—at the Kentucky Center box office 2.5 hours prior to the performance to enter their names in a drawing. Thirty minutes later, a limited number of names will be drawn.
Chosen names will have the opportunity to purchase two Orchestra tickets to that day’s performance for $25, cash only.
Orchestra tickets regularly sell for $77-$87 each.
Lottery participants must show a photo ID when entering the drawing and purchasing tickets.
Wicked is billed as “the untold story of the witches of Oz,” and opened on Broadway in 2003. It appears in Louisville for its third run, beginning Wednesday, September 12.
Reserved tickets are still available and start at $32.75. They may be purchased online [4] or by calling the Kentucky Center box office at 800-775-7777. The performance is recommended for patrons over the age of 10.
Wicked runs September 12 through September 30.
