"Dirty Sexy Derby Play" by Finnigan Productions

Dirty Sexy Derby Play is the first production in Finnigan’s eighth season in Louisville. Originally produced to sold-out crowds in fall of 2008 at The MeX; 2012’s remount of Dirty Sexy Derby Play features a polished script, new casting and a new venue. Vanessa and Carl have decided to throw a party. It’s Sat., May 4, 1974 and it’s Derby Day in Louisville. The thing is, the party they had in mind is not your ordinary, run-of-the-mill Derby party. It’s been only one month since the devastating tornadoes of April, which claimed the homes of people they know and they want to do something special for their friends who have lost so much. Vanessa and Carl have decided to throw a key party, in which only couples are invited and upon arrival one member of the couple drops their set of keys into a bowl. When the party is over and it’s time to leave, the other member of the couple draws out a set of keys and whoever’s keys they have; that’s whom they go home with. The play was written and is directed by Louisville native Brian Walker.
