JJ Grey & Mofro

Grey's ability to tell his thought-provoking stories through original songs, informed by a mixture of old school rhythm and blues and down-home roots rock 'n' roll, has carried JJ Grey & Mofro from the backwoods of Florida to hundreds of concert stages across the United States, Canada, Europe, Japan and Australia. Singing with a passion and fervor influenced by his classic soul heroes, Grey's deeply personal songs are steeped in the rhythms of his native home outside of Jacksonville, Florida. Grey comes from a long tradition of southern storytellers and, in that spirit, he fills his songs with details that are at once vivid, personal and universal. (This show is the rescheduled one after the Nov. 5, 2011 one was canceled. All tickets previously purchased will be valid for the new date.)

The 7-Shot Symphony

Aside from the food, the best things Italy has given us since antiquity are clearly Commedia dell’Arte and the Spaghetti Western. Fans of both will find much to love in The 7-Shot Symphony, the award-winning original play by Minneapolis-based physical theater company Live Action Set, whose southeast tour stops at The Bard’s Town Theatre this weekend. Seven world myths collide against the backdrop of America’s Wild West in a show that’s been fondly described as “the love child of Quentin Tarantino and Cirque du Soleil.” Food service available before and after the show. Drink service available during the show.
