I just finished a long weekend working at the church picnic of my childhood parish. I have a lot of fun working the picnic—my family works one of the game booths, and it's a blast watching people win prizes. But, even more fun than working a church picnic is being on the other side of the game booth and experiencing the games, rides, and fun as a patron rather than an employee.
Hanging out at church picnics is one of my favorite things to do during the summer. Most church picnics feature fair-sytle food, home-cooked meals and prizes, games, rides, beer, and pull tabs, among other things.
