From the folks who brought you the Inhuman Festival, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and Point Break Live comes another sure-fire favorite.
And this time, you can bring the kids.
The Alley Theater for Young Audiences [4] presents This is Not a Pipe Dream, a fantastical tale of a young boy who escapes from his discouraging childhood into the whimsical world of his paintings.
Loosely based on the early years of Belgian artist Rene Magritte [5], the play blends comedy and inspiration as Rene is encouraged by his mother to pursue a career as an artist, something his father considers a “pipe dream.”
The play is being produced in partnership with the Speed Art Museum [6], where all performances will take place.
This is Not a Pipe Dream opens Friday, May 18 at 7pm, and continues through June 3 at various times, and is recommended for children ages 8 & up.
Tickets, which include admission to the Speed Art Museum, are $10 for students 12 & under, and $15 for adults. They may be purchased online [7] or by calling the Alley Theater box office at 502-713-6178.
