Identity, religion, and homosexuality are explored in the SO Theatrical Productions performances of The Prodigal, which will open at Kentucky Center on Saturday.

Both performances of The Prodigal will take place in Whitney Hall at the Kentucky Center for the Arts, located at 501 West Main Street [4] in downtown Louisville. Performances will last two hours and 40 minutes and take place on Saturday, June 26, at 8 p.m. as well as on Sunday, June 27, at 7 p.m.

Tickets for the show are either $45 or $100 per person. The Prodigal tickets can be purchased at the Kentucky Center box office, on the Kentucky Center website [5], or by calling 502-584-7777.

The Prodigal, presented by SO Theatrical Productions [6], features the story of a transgendered child struggling with an identity crisis. Meanwhile, the child's religous family, seeing the treatment of others towards those in the GLBT community, must work to protect their child.

Sheila O'Bannon wrote The Prodigal, which includes musical contributions by Grammy winner J.D. Miller.
