I have previously published my interview [4] with local filmmaker David Brewer and reviewed [5] his first film, “Nothing in the Flowers,” which premiered at Headliners in December to a packed house. Tonight, those who missed the opportunity to see the film the first time now have a second chance to support local film: “Nothing in the Flowers” plays this evening at Comedy Caravan.
In the film, a young girl has been missing for weeks, with no leads as to her whereabouts. While a detective tries to solve the case, a second girl, eleven-year-old Amanda Saylor, is abducted as well. What unfolds is a portrait of a troubled man whose motivations for kidnapping young girls goes deeper than is immediately apparent.
An important note: despite the venue, this film is decidedly not a comedy.
Doors open at 7:00 and the film plays at 8:00. Tickets are $5.00; there are discounts available for students and military personnel. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at the Comedy Caravan website [6]. Comedy Caravan is located at 1250 Bardstown Road in Mid-City Mall.
