The headlining entertainer of The Julep [4], formerly known as the Julep Ball, will be country music star, Rodney Atkins [5]. You may know Rodney Atkins for his country music hits such as "Farmer's Daughter" and "Take a Back Road." Paul Gish, co-chair of the volunteer committee that helps organize The Julep, said, “We are so excited to have Rodney Atkins provide the entertainment at The Julep this year. This event has a long and rich tradition as one of Louisville’s premiere Derby Eve events. Having Rodney Atkins perform at the event only enhances that heritage.”
The Julep is a Kentucky Derby Eve party that is hosted the evening of the Oaks, May 4th this year. Individual dinner tickets are $500 each ($400 tax-deductible) and available in tables of 10 for $5,000 ($4,000 tax-deductible). There are tickets available strictly for the dance portion of the event for $100 each. Proceeds from this event benefit the James Graham Brown Cancer Center [6] at the University of Louisville. This event, presented by Brown-Forman [7], has raised over $2 million to the cancer center since The Julep's inception.
Tickets are available online [8] or you may contact Andrea Tankersley at (502) 562-8021 or andrea.tankersley@louisville.edu [9].
