The Kentucky State Senate got an unexpected present from Paula, the African Blackfooted penguin, today during a vote regarding the local aquarium where Paula currently lives.
According to Gawker [4],
Senate President David Williams reported interrupted a colleague's speech to announce, "The penguin... just defecated on the floor."
"Actually, senator, I believe that's your desk," the speaker replied.
Let's hope this isn't an indication of the way Paula the penguin felt about the Kentucky Senate. I guess now there's multiple ways to interpret, 'there's business to be handled on the Senate floor'.
