It’s been turned into a movie [4] (2005), a book series [5] (1979-1992), several DC Comic books [6] (1990’s), a TV show [7] (1981), and was even a video game for your old Commodore 64 [8] (1984).
Now you can see it in its original state, as The Alley Theater [9] stages four episodes of the original BBC radio [10] plays of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
The show follows Arthur Dent and his alien friend Ford Prefect, a writer for The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, a travel manual. The bumbling duo finds adventure as they fumble through the galaxy after Earth is destroyed.
The Guide opens this Thursday, November 3, at 7:30. For the special Opening Night Party, patrons coming in costume will receive half-price admission. Everyone is invited to stay after the show for music, dancing, and a costume contest.
Performances will continue through November 19. Tickets are $18 in advance; $20 day of show. Students, seniors and members of the military receive a $2 discount.
Tickets can be purchased online [11] or reserved by phone at (502) 713-6178.
