Here’s something you probably didn’t know. Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15th. Here’s another thing you may not know. The University of Louisville offers a Latin American and Latino Studies (LALS) program that organizes special events for UofL students, faculty, and the Kentuckiana community to learn more about the diverse cultures of Latin America. One of those events is happening today.

David William Foster, who is a Regent’s Professor of Spanish and Women and Gender Studies at Arizona State University, will be presenting the 10th Annual LALS Heritage Lecture, “Founding Latin American Women Photographers.” It will be held in the Chao Auditorium in the Ekstrom Library/UofL Campus on Oct. 26th from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.

Foster’s presentation will focus on the contributions of women photographers in Latin America, with special emphasis on Argentina and Brazil.
