Step back into 1928 like the Man in Chair in the musical comedy The Drowsy Chaperone, set to open at Derby Dinner Playhouse on Tuesday.

The Drowsy Chaperone performances will take place on all days except Mondays from April 5 until May 15.  Shows in the evenings will take place at 7:45 p.m. with buffet beginning at 6 p.m.  Sunday matinees will take place at 1:30 p.m. with buffet beginning at 11:45 a.m.  Finally, Wednesday matinees will go on at 1 p.m. with buffet starting at 11:45 a.m.

All performances will go on at Derby Dinner Playhouse, located at 525 Marriott Drive [4] in Clarksville, IN.

Tickets for the shows depend on the day.  Shows on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday evenings are $39 per person, Friday evening shows are $40, Saturday evening shows are $43, Sunday matinees are $35, and Wednesday matinees are $34 per person.  Group rates are also available.  Tickets can be purchased at the Derby Dinner Playhouse [5] website, at the box office, or by calling 1-812-288-8281.

In The Drowsy Chaperone [6], a fanatic named Man in Chair presents a rare cast recording of his favorite show, The Drowsy Chaperone. The Man in Chair plays the record, and the musical comedy comes to life, taking everyone back in time to the fictional 1928 musical. During the trip, there will be marriage, dreams, dimwitted gangsters, and, yes, even a drowsy chaperone.

Bob Martin and Don McKellar created the Tony Award winning Drowsy Chaperone, with music and lyric contributions from Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison.  The Derby Dinner show cast includes Jim Hesselman as Man in Chair, Georgette Kleier and Michelle Johnson as Mrs. Tottendale, Kevin Crain as Underling, Jeffrey Funaro as Robert Martin, Matthew Brennan as George, John Payonk as Feldzieg, and Colette Delaney as Kitty.

More information on The Drowsy Chaperone, the children's theatre, or any concerts can be found at the Derby Dinner Playhouse [5] website.
