Spring Break is just around the corner. Really. The kids are out of their gourds, the weather is equally as loopy, and if you haven’t planned the kids’ week of freedom yet, here are a few more suggestions. I posted an article of

[4] a few weeks back, but here are a few more to check out if you’re not headed south. 

Douglas Community Center--Located at 2305 Douglass Community Center in the Highlands, the center offers a camp April 4-8 for 6-12 year-olds. The cost is $65.00 and space is limited. Call 425-8120 for more information and registration options.

The Kentucky Museum of Arts and Craft--April 4-8 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. KYMAC will hold Spring Break drop-in workshops for $6.00 per children ages 4 and up. Each day they will offer a fun and hands-on art project the kiddos can take home. Plan on spending 20-30 minutes creating. Follow this with a museum visit or a downtown lunch or dessert and you have yourself quite the metropolitan experience, crafty ones.

Louisville Free Public Library-- Check the

[5] for a plethora of events for parents and children of all ages. From workshops to story times, lectures to giveaways, the library will have something for everyone to do (and they also have books there that you can borrow for free)... 

Villiage 8-- Take the kids and their friends and you’ll instantly be supermom and won’t have to take out a loan to do it. Watch second-run movies at Villiage 8 in Dupont for $3 during a matinee. On Tuesdays, admission is only $2.00!

If you’re lucky enough to have the entire week off, visit the Frazier Museum, the Ali Center, Yew Dell Gardens, Bernheim, Waterfront park, 21C, take a stroll downtown and marvel at how it’s changed “since I was your age”, breathe in all our city has to offer (then take your allergy meds), and have a great week, you lucky dogs.
