Losing isn't something the Louisville Lightning soccer team is used to doing.   After a 1-4 start to the season, the team looked to change the direction of their season and came home from Detroit with well-deserved road win.

According to www.louisvillelightning.com [4], head coach Ted Nichols commented after the game "We had our legs and I think we think caught Detroit tired after they played Cincinnati the night before.  They came out a bit flat and tired, understandably.  We had the right guys out there who played with a lot of energy.  We were ready to play because we know we need to win every game from here out.  We were prepared and I think Detroit was a bit sluggish after playing their second game in two days.  Still, Detroit is a great team and we weathered the storm and pulled out a great win,"

With the the 10-4 victory against the Detroit Waza, the Lightning now move to a division third place tie with the Ohio Vortex.  A victory this weekend against the division-leading Cincinnati Kings would go a long way in moving up the rankings and changing the outlook of the season.  The team is back at home this weekend as they take on Cincinnati Saturday night at 8:00 at Mockingbird Valley Soccer Complex.
