My tastes in wine have slowly graduated from box to bottle since I finished my undergraduate studies a few years ago. I'm inching my way through all the white wine varieties, and I still haven't developed a taste for red.
But upcoming events at Bristol Bar and Grille [4] and Limestone Restaurant [5] sound great for the more mature wine lover.
Bristol's dinner on Sept. 16 at the restaurant's Main Street location will feature Andreas Wickhoff of Loimer Winery in a celebration of Austrian wine and cuisine. I counted at least five Austrian wines that will be featured at the $55 a plate dinner. Call (502) 582-1995 for reservations.
Limestone Restaurant will showcase Storybook Mountain Vineyards [6], winner of Wine & Spirits Magazine "Artisan Winery of the Year," during a four-course, $69 dinner Sept. 21. Each course will be paired with one of Storybook Mountain's organic, award-winning wines. Call (502) 426-7477 for information.
