Lineup for Derby City Film Festival announced [2]

The Derby City Film Festival has announced the 45 films selected to be screened- representing over 12 countries and including 6 films from Kentucky filmmakers.  The 2010 Derby City Film Festival runs February 19th-21st at the Clifton Center.  The complete list of films, film descriptions, and screening times, as well as information on lodging is available at  HYPERLINK "http://www.derbycityfilmfest.com" www.derbycityfilmfest.com 

The 6 films from Kentucky selected for the festival include (synopsis’ available online):

*Louisville filmmaker

*Blue King (Directed by: David and Kevin Flores)

SCREENING: Sat. Feb. 20th- 10:00PM

Cannonnball (Directed by: Scott Stafford) 

SCREENING: Sun. Feb. 21st- 1:30PM

*In Mysterious Ways (Directed by: Vin Morreale Jr.) 

SCREENING: Sun. Feb. 21st- 6:00PM

*Alphonso Bow (Directed by: Lije Sarki; Written by: M Sarki)

SCREENING: Sat. Feb. 20th- 12:30PM

*Sam Steele & the Junior Detective Agency (Directed by: Tom Whitus) SCREENING: Sun. Feb. 21st- 3:30 PM

*Hip Hop: Dead or Alive (Directed by Stephon Barbour) 

SCREENING: Sat. Feb. 20th- 8:00PM

The 45 selections include 13 international films, 14 world premieres and 7 US premieres.  The categories include: Feature, Documentary, US Short, and International Short.  The festival will also include selected film panels (TBA) and film workshops conducted by independent film leaders in writing, acting, and FX make-up.

Festival passes and tickets are on sale now through website.  The Bluegrass Brewing Company will host the Friday and Saturday after parties with live music and drink specials for film festival patrons.  Tickets for the awards reception are limited and will only be available until February 1st, 2010.
