Danger Run
Starts at Lowes in Clarksville, the East End and Southwest
Fridays and Saturdays, Sept. 25-Oct.31, starts 7-11 p.m.
Oct. 31 marks the last day for this Halloween-themed road rally [4]. Learn more about the event at "Danger Run expects 13,000 to decode limericks and get spooked in Louisville's only Halloween ghost run [5]" and read a review of my experience, in limerick form [6].
Dracula
The Actor's Theater
316 W. Main St.
Through Oct. 31
Catch the last two shows of thetheatrical adaptation of Bram Stroker's classic gothic stors [7] at the Actors Theatre of Louisville on Halloween. Show times are 4 and 8 p.m., and tickets are $41.
Evil Dead The Musical
The Alley Theater
1205 E. Washington St.
Through Oct. 31, all performances begin at 8 p.m.
I'm not rsure how to describe this [8] in my own words. So I won't. "Based on Sam Raimi’s 80’s cult classic 'Evil Dead' films, the musical tells the tale of five college kids who travel to a cabin in the woods and accidentally unleash an evil force and catchy show tunes." Tickets are $20, unless you sit in the SplatterZone (the first two rows of the theater) in which case you'll be required to spend an additional $5 for safety glasses and a poncho (Evil Dead will be one of the messier performances you've seen since that live stage show you caught in Amsterdam and you're still not sure you should tell your wife about.)
The Great Pumpkin Blow
Glassworks
815 W. Market St.
Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Oct. 31
No, it's not a stag-film take on the Charlie Brown classic. Glasswork's is having another holiday-themed special event [9], this time you can blow your own pumping, choosing both the colors of the body and stem. The cost is $60 a blow and appointments (in-call only) are required (call 502.992.3056).
Roger Daltrey
The Showroom, Horseshoe Southern Indiana
Elizabeth, Ind.
Oct. 31, 7:30 p.m.
Looking for an adult evening out on Oct. 31 night that doesn't involve Halloween? Unless he plays "Boris the Spider" or The Who's late bassist's John Entwistle's ghost shows up in that skin-tight skeleton costume he wore on stage, Roger Daltrey's concert at The Showroom in the Horseshoe Southern Indiana will offer a reprieve from Halloween-related activities. And with attendees required to be 21 or older, you're guaranteed not to have to deal with kids. Tickets start at $45 [10].
