The Carnegie Center for Art and History in New Albany, Indiana is offering a bus tour featuring distinct religious architecture in the Louisville area. The “Experience Sacred Spaces” bus tour will take place Saturday June 27, 2009, from 12:00 to 4:15 pm. The tour will begin and end at the Carnegie Center, where participants can park their cars and board the bus. “Experience Sacred Spaces” includes visits to the Hindu Temple of Kentucky, the Muslim Community Center of Louisville, the Vietnamese Buddhist Association of Louisville and Temple, and Calvary Episcopal Church.
The cost of the tour is $10 per person and is payable by cash or check. Advance payment and reservations are required for this event and must be made by Tuesday June 23. Space is limited and registration is on a first come, first served basis. The itinerary for “Experience Sacred Spaces” is as follows:

A staff member at each place of worship will present an introductory talk about the site and the religion practiced there, followed by time for participants to explore and view the site on their own. Tour participants are encouraged to arrive early at the Carnegie Center to allow time to view the current exhibit, “Faces of Faith: The Search for the Divine,” Art Quilts by Penny Sisto, prior to embarking on the bus tour. In this new exhibit, fiber artist Penny Sisto examines commonalities in five world religions: Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism.
The Carnegie Center for Art and History, a department of the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library, is a contemporary art gallery and history museum that offers a full schedule of changing exhibitions and other educational programs. The Carnegie Center is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 am-5:30 pm, and is located at 201 East Spring Street in historic downtown New Albany, Indiana.
