The Gilt Edge Community Development Corporation’s Department of Theatre and Performing Arts presents Pod-Ville Theatre.  This unique theatre caters to the teen populace of the Kentuckiana area as a cultural enrichment program that blends both the informed and uninformed STARTists (Starting artist) together on the stage for the common good in the neighborhood.  It’s designed to empower children/youth to go where opportunity meets preparation.

So what does Pod-Ville mean? It’s where two emerging communities meet to promote the arts.  “Art is the heart of the bond between Jeffersonville and Louisville.  It’s like a bridge over troubled water it connects two peas in a pod” that’s according to PVT’s Executive Artistic Director Troy Bell.  He goes on to say, “Our vision is to grow at risk children into risk taking youth who are willing to step out of their comfort zone.  I want them to take out of their vocabulary no, I can’t to yes, I can.”

Kentuckiana’s Premiere Pre-teen/Teen Performing Arts Interest and Development will present their first production entitled “…STAR of Stage and Screen”, an original Christian portrayal of excerpts from Broadway musicals and Hollywood movies for three days only beginning October 31st at 8 pm.  The production will be held in The Main Auditorium of Gilt Edge Baptist Church, 1713 Green Street, Jeffersonville, IN.  The donation is $5.  *For a complete list of dates and times see below.

The theatre will showcase productions like “Annie”, “Space Jam”, “The Lion King”, “Oliver”, “Ali”, “Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs”, “The Wiz”, “The Color Purple”, “Pinocchio”, and “Sister Act II”.

The Same Ol’ Soloists, (SOS) will be the theatre’s special guests.
