The weekend is full of wildlife folklore, children’s magic show, weather lore, nature stories, kids’ activities, and live animal programs. Saturday includes the popular evening program, Campfire Tale , from 6-8 p.m. at the NS. We’ll gather around the campfire for an evening of marshmallow roasting and storytelling!  Letitia Usher, Teaching Artist and Storyteller with the Blue Apple Players Children’s Theater Company in Louisville, KY, will present lively tales that will entertain both children and adults. Arrive by 6 p.m. to see the NS’s backyard animals on your way down to the campfire.  Check-in begins at 5:45 and stories begin at 6:30 p.m.  Tickets are $4.50 for ages 13 and up, $3 for ages 5-12.  Bring blankets or lawn chairs and dress for a cool fall night.
On Sunday, the HP features Picking up Pawpaws–a look at the wild fall fruit, nuts, and roots eaten by early farm families.
"Autumn is such a beautiful time and there is so much going on in Land Between The Lakes--elk bugling, leaves changing colors, fruits ripening, songbirds and monarch butterflies flying south--it is a wonderful season to get out and enjoy the outdoors!" said Carrie Szwed, Public Programs Coordinator at the Nature Station.

 Admission to the NS and HP is $4 for ages 13 and up, $2 for ages 5-12, and 4 and under are free. Tokens to drive through the Elk & Bison Prairie can be purchased at all LBL facilities for $5 per car.
