The 51st Annual St. James Court Art Show will be held October 5, 6 & 7. This year marks the third time in four years the Art Show has been ranked the #1 Fine Art Show in the country by Sunshine Artist Magazine. Previously the show has attracted over 275,000 people and has featured 700 artists in its three square block show site. This year the St. James Court Art Show will enhance the patron’s experience by bringing in technology and an interactive recycled art station.
AT&T, a major sponsor of the Art Show, is bringing the AT&T Experience tent. It is a high-tech interactive play land for consumers showcasing AT&T product and services demonstrations, including wireless phones and ring tone downloads, plasma televisions, High-Speed Internet connections, online gaming, personalized event e-photos and more.
Go Green! As an effort to raise environmental awareness, the Green Team from Whole Foods Market will lead a series of educational and fun eco-art projects for kids of all ages. Participants will learn how to creatively reuse post-consumer waste (regular household items that are often thrown away) as art materials. Reusing these items saves landfill space and the energy and natural resources needed to produce new materials. Recycling art projects encourage creative thinking and problem solving as kids are challenged to use non-traditional art materials. Also, some of the trash destined for landfills is more interesting than art materials available for purchase at the local supply store.
