100 Black Men of Louisville will celebrate its Sixteenth Annual Derby Gala on May 3, 2007 at the Galt House Hotel and Suites located downtown north of the Fourth Street Live Complex on Fourth Street.
Tickets are $150.00 each or $1500.00 per table. The evening includes a full course meal and derby gala collectible souvenir for all guest. For tickets contact Rob Jordan (502) 291-0485.
In 2006, the Gala event was held at the Galt House Hotel and Suites and musical entertainment was provided by Frankie Beverly & Maze.
The 100 Black Men of Louisville organization awards scholarships to selected seventh-grade African-American males. In order to be eligible for selection, these youths must excel in school, stay off drugs and act as a big brother. Some of the students are chosen to participate in national academic competitions, and their travel expenses are paid for by 100 Black Men of Louisville. Students from Louisville have taken top honors in these competitions for the past six years. |
