Bring your camera when you come to the Louisville Zoo for Storybook Character Week/files/storyimages/May 20 and 21.  The Zoo is open from 10-5 but the special activities take place between noon and 4 p.m.  This is a great time to take a photo of your family with one of your favorite storybook characters.

You will have the chance to meet and greet “Wild Thing" (from the book Where the Wild Things Are), Curious George, Cat in the Hat, Brother and Sister (Berenstain Bears), Strawberry Shortcake, Pig (If you Give a Pig a Pancake), Corduroy Bear and even Buddy Bat, the Louisville Bats' mascot.

Enjoy hearing some of your family’s favorite stories by storytellers at the MetaZoo reading stations between character appearances.  The educators will also have some of the Zoo’s popular education animals.  And, be sure to see the enrichment activities with some of the Zoo’s real wild things.

The Zoo is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Extended Twilight Hours Thursday through Saturday, June through August,  let you enter until 8 p.m.

Regular Zoo admission prices are $10.95 for adults (12-59), $8.95 for senior citizens (60+), $7.95 for children (3-11) and Louisville Zoo members and infants 2 & under enter free.

The Zoo is easily accessed via I-264 exit 14 and travel north, following the black and white Zoo signs.  For additional information, please call 502-459-2181 or visit the Zoo at www.louisvillezoo.org [4].
