Motivation, Discovery, Multimedia Extravaganza, and Hands-On Fun
The Muhammad Ali Center is an international cultural and educational center that is guided and inspired by the ideals of Muhammad Ali. It is the institution that will carry on Muhammad's legacy and continue his life's work through a compelling and immersive "visitor experience," global outreach, educational initiatives, and key partnerships. In some ways, the Muhammad Ali Center will be larger than life, like our founder, the "Greatest" himself. The Ali Center is a place that inspires exploration of the greatness within ourselves.
Exhibitry
The 93,000 sq. ft. Ali Center features an orientation theater, media stations and interactive exhibits through which visitors will learn about Muhammad Ali as well as have an opportunity to embark on their own personal discovery. Ali’s biographical storyline will be presented primarily through the deep-rooted values of his life – respect, confidence, conviction, dedication, spirituality and giving. Visitors can also learn about Ali’s life story through chronological, interactive “Journeylines” – from his Louisville roots and unprecedented boxing career to his societal and religious convictions and global humanitarianism. Ultimately, the Center will seek to translate the values of Ali’s life into awareness on the part of visitors that they have the same potential to shape their lives – and the world – as did Muhammad Ali.
Outreach
In mirroring the ideals of Muhammad Ali, the Center will seek to transc/files/storyimages/cultural boundaries by becoming a "global gathering place" where people come – both online and in-person – to exchange dialogue and to further encourage understanding of and appreciation for diverse cultures, ideologies, and ethnicities. The Ali Center will strive to reach its mission and goals through distance learning technologies, classroom methodology, public programming, and other educational initiatives.
