Slint, the enigmatic Louisville band whose tentacles have reached to the farthest corners of the indie rock world, announced late last year that it would reunite after more than a decade’s absence to curate and play the All Tomorrow’s Parties festival in England. Tickets for that show sold out in record time.

Shortly thereafter, the band announced a handful of U.S. tour dates that includes Chicago and San Francisco. Two Chicago shows combined sold out in three days.

Finally, word came last week that Slint will kick off its world tour with a show in Louisville on Feb. 22 at the Brown Theatre. The show is all ages, and doors open at 7:30 p.m. It’s the first in a forthcoming concert series launched by Production Simple, a brand new local talent buyer.

Tickets are $17.50 for balcony, $22.50 for floor, and go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Kentucky Center box office (584-7777). They’re also available at Ticketmaster outlets and by phone, 361-3100. There are a little more than 1,200 tickets available, and the show will likely sell out quickly, so get on it.
