Lt. Governor Steve Pence will sp/files/storyimages/the next few weeks at his Louisville home recovering from hip replacement surgery.
Pence underwent the procedure July 31st at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
According to a news release from the Lt. Governor's office, the surgery was prompted by a 22-year-old skiing accident. In 1982 Pence broke his right leg skiing.
Over the past year, problems stemming from the old injury worsened making
last week's surgery necessary.
Pence's surgeon expects the Lt. Governor to make a full recovery and should be back on the job at least part time by the middle of this month.
Before becoming Governor Ernie Fletcher's running mate, Pence served at the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky.
