It's a wonderful life...in La Grange, KY during our annual Light Up La Grange Festival on the courthouse lawn in the historic district of downtown. Santa Claus arrives by carriage at 6:00 to help the Mayor light up the town. Festivities include carriage rides, carolers, dancing and musical entertainment, shopping, dining, and a window dressing contest among businesses in the historic shopping district. Look for strolling "It's a Wonderful Life" characters will be handing out "Train Bucks" for discounts at participating shops and restaurants. Santa will be in the gazebo to hear the Christmas wishes of children.

This is the final "Trial Run" Trolley Hop that will include 3rd and 4th Streets. If you want the 3rd St / 4th St extension to become permanent please stop in and visit the businesses along the route.
The Fourth Street trolleys will be free and will make a south/north loop from Market Street to Broadway to include additional businesses along Third and Fourth Streets. The route will travel east on Market to Third Street, south on Third to Broadway then north on Fourth Street to the regular Fourth Street route. The Trolleys will run from 5-11 pm.
Some of the businesses that will be open are the Urban Design Center, StudioWorks, The Spaghetti Factory, Riteway BBQ, the Gallery at the Brown Hotel, Personal Image, Raw Sushi Lounge, Angel Rockbar, Tengo Sed Cantina, Maker's Mark, Borders Books & Music, and more.

The Frankfort Avenue Business Association's “Olde Tyme Christmas on Frankfort Avenue” will be held Saturday, December 6, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The celebration will include annual events, such as the Santa Sprint Run and Stroll, the festive Dog Walk, and the Good Neighbor Awards.

Experience America’s Grandest Victorian Neighborhood
The 2008 Floral Designer Showcase Competition theme is “Sleigh Bells”. Each of our participating homes has been assigned a volunteer floral designer to decorate the home’s entryway using sleigh bells in the design. The competition is judged by a panel of five volunteer judges one evening in late November. Winners will have exterior Competition Award signs displayed in the front yard.

This holiday season, Norton Commons presents The 2008 Holiday Home Tour to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, Kentucky Region. Tickets are a suggested donation of $5.00; all proceeds will help grant wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
The tour will be offered on Sunday, December 7 and December 14 from 2 to 5 p.m.
The guided Trolley Tour will begin at 9420 Norton Commons Boulevard, and will allow a first-hand glimpse of seven spacious homes and cottages of Norton Commons that will be open to the public.
