On November
1, KMAC will be having its 3rd Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead)
Festival. Day of the Dead is a joyous holiday that originated in
Mexico. This celebration honors the lives of deceased loved ones and
the continuation of life. In this tradition, death is not seen as the
end, but rather a new stage of life. This year KMAC’s celebration will
include a traditional public altar to honor loved ones, a workshop, as
well as a fun festival which will have food, music, art, a sugar skull
contest, fire dancers, face painting and puppets. We will then conclude
with the traditional Mexican candlelit march. Be sure to join us for
what will be a fun night of Hispanic culture.
