The holidays are finally upon us. And with the stuffed turkey, the gift-wrapping and the snowy weather comes the highly anticipated wave of family members flying in to visit from all over the world. But after everyone arrives and unpacks and you catch up on everything you’ve missed over the last year, what’s on the agenda?

Louisville is full of one of a kind places and unique experiences, making it the perfect city to explore with your family over the holidays. So before you create your itinerary, take a look at these destination suggestions. And don't forget to leave your own suggestions in the comments!

 

For the kids or the kid at heart: 

The Kentucky Science Center [4]

This place isn’t just for elementary school field trips anymore. With a variety of interesting activities, like its current “Science in Play [5]” exhibit and an Imax theater, children of all ages will find a full day of fun they can’t experience anywhere else. Story Time at Carmichael’s Kids [6]

Bring the youngest members of your family to Carmichael’s Kids to be captivated by the magic of children’s literature. Storytime is free to attend and takes place every Thursday at 11am and every Friday at noon. Guests are welcome to bring their own lunch. Carmichael’s Kids will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
