We keep talking about this upcoming week and every time it’s followed by several deep breaths. Are you sure you’re ready for something EVERY night?! It’s going to be a week of epic proportions. For location, time and cost, click on the links for each event. Be sure to check back at livemusiclou.com [4] after for our full reviews!

Sunday (10/4) -

Willie Watson with Heather Maloney [5]

Willie Watson and crew start off a tremendous three-day run at Headliners. The founding member of Old Crow Medicine Show has been playing solo for the past two years, his debut album, Folk Singer Vol. I, receiving high accolades. Americana artists have a huge following in Louisville and I think they’ll show out for this Sunday night show.

Monday (10/5) -

José González with Ryley Walker [6]

José González’s soothing voice and deliberate guitar playing are things I’ve loved for a while. I think this will be exactly the vibe I need for a Monday night.

Tuesday (10/6) -

Justin Paul Lewis, Christopher the Conquered, Will Solomon [7]

Justin Paul Lewis has been in the studio recording new stuff, so we’re excited to hear what he’s been putting together.

Built to Spill, Helvetia, Clark and the Himselfs [8]

Headliners is on a roll this week. We’re pumped for indie-rock veterans Built to Spill to take over our Tuesday evening.

Kadavar [9]

For something a little more intense, head over to Market Street to catch German band Kadaver. It will be loud, full of lots of electric guitar, which is perfect for the small back room at Haymarket.

Wednesday (10/7) -

Great Peacock, Nick Dittmeier & The Sawdusters [10]

Somehow we still have yet to make it to a Nick Dittmeier show, but we’ll be doing our best this week to make it out. They’ll be opening for Americana band Great Peacock. Expect lots of guitars and harmonies to take over Zbar.

Thursday (10/8) -

Father John Misty with Tess & Dave [11]

Father John Misty isn’t afraid to express himself, ranging from his moody recent album to disgust in social media. From his between-song commentary at Lollapalooza, I’m fairly confident that we’ll be entertained the entire evening.

Friday (10/9) -

Diarrhea Planet, BRENDA, The Tommys [12]

They rocked the WFPK Port Stage this summer at Forecastle, and the Nashville boys of Diarrhea Planet are back in town ready for more action.

Saturday (10/10) -

Jaye Jayle, Ecstatic Visions, Cat Casual & The Holy Midnight [13]

Evan Patterson (aka Young Widows frontman) will wrap up the Saturday night psych fest at Zbar. Head over to Preston, grab a booth and hang out for the evening.

TLRS:  Tommy Womack with guest Brian Dolzani [14]

This installment of the slightly less conventional concert series includes one of "Nashville's best loved musical eccentrics," Tommy Womack.  The Living Room Series is BYOB, but find a spot on the couch, get savage on home cooked grub and enjoy some music.

Friday-Saturday (10/9-10/10) -

Outskirts Festival [15]

The Outskirts Festival is self-described as “Louisville’s Lady-Centric Music Festival.” Female-led bands from Louisville and across the country will be taking the New Vintage stage for this weekend-long (this one goes into Sunday) event. The festival is more than just your typical music showcase. All events help focus social awareness on gender inequalities and allow everybody to rock!

Garvin Gate Blues Festival [16]

Set in Old Louisville, the Garvin Gate is widely acclaimed as being one of the nation’s most prestigious blues festivals for more than 25 years. Make sure you bring some cash to spend on the food, drink and art vendors since the event is FREE admission and proceeds go toward keeping Old Louisville well-preserved.

Belknap Fall Festival [17]

This annual neighborhood festival that takes place in historic Douglass Loop. It happened to be one of the first fests we stumbled upon after moving to Louisville. The weekend will include plenty of vendors, art, food and drinks, as well as live music throughout. Some of our personal favorites, Squeezebot, Ryan Marsh, Small Time Napoleon will be playing over the course of the weekend. Closing out the event is Louisville favorite (and last week’s closer for WFPK’s Waterfront Wednesday) Wax Fang.
