On Friday, June 6th at 7 PM (at our Frankfort Ave store), Carmichael's welcomes writer, painter, photographer, and comics artist Danica Novgorodoff for a reading from and signing of her new graphic novel "The Undertaking of Lily Chen," a magical realist story set in the world of the black market for deceased brides in China.

Originally from Louisville, Novgorodoff now lives in New York City where she works as a graphic designer for First Second Books. She is also the author and illustrator of the book "Refresh, Refresh" about a father and son and the war in Iraq. We hope you'll be able to join us!
